Summary:
E863 is an unusual Enestrom number, in that it originally appeared in three different
volumes of the same journal.
Seventeen of the letters were written by Euler. These are dated: November 5, 1727, December 10, 1728*,
February 18, 1729*, May 16, 1729*, October 21, 1729,
July 11, 1730*, May 25, 1731, August 27, 1737*,
December 10, 1737*, April 26, 1738, July 30, 1738,
December 20, 1738, May 5, 1739, September 15, 1739*,
January 19, 1740*, June 20, 1740*, October 18, 1740*. (The letters whose
dates are marked with a *, had extracts published earlier (see E64,
E859, E861, and
E862).
The originals are in the library of the Swedish Academy of Science in Stockholm.
