E552 -- Observationes circa divisionem quadratorum per numeros primos
(Observations about the division of squares by prime numbers)
Euler begins with a review of the funamental properties of quadratic residues, as outlined in E242, e.g. conditions for -1 to be a quadratic residue (theorems 4 & 5).
According to the records, it was presented to the St. Petersburg Academy on May 18, 1772.
