Euler presents elementary properties of continued fractions and convergents. This paper is related to
E323 and the solution to the Pell equation and the Euclidean Algorithm. It is also related to E454.
to C. G. J. Jacobi, a treatise with this title was read to the Berlin Academy on July 21, 1757.
According to the records, it was presented to the St. Petersburg Academy on October 15, 1759.
