Summary:
Euler looks at the approximate rectification of pieces of curves if the length of the normals at the endpoints as well as the angle
between these normals are given.
According to C. G. J. Jacobi, a treatise with this title was read to the Berlin Academy on July 20,
1747.
According to the records, it was presented to the St. Petersburg Academy on April 7, 1749.
